Face it, there are several chances for a potential guest to back out of staying with you. From the time they start day dreaming about visiting your destination to the moment they click ‘book it’, there are distractions, reasons not to go, and other hotels vying to take them away.

How can you hold tightly onto their interest and attention, while they reach for their credit card?

It takes really getting to know each stage of a hotel reservation and what makes someone move forward to the next step. Then, tailor your hotel marketing efforts to address each stage of travel.

Here’s how you can keep all eyes on you throughout the booking process to win more reservations:


Booking Stage 1: DAYDREAMING ABOUT TRAVEL

It all starts with wanderlust, the craving for that elusive vacation time or the next adventure.  So, your hotel marketing strategy should be focused on making travelers dream about them.  How to achieve that: Visuals, visuals, visuals. Whether it’s videos, photos, or 360-degree virtual tours, these visual assets make the customer virtually experience your hotel and destination and you should be using all of your best visual assets in your marketing materials, banner ads, social media posts, etc.  Make them want to feel that white sand or the wintry breeze on their face.

Extra tip: One of the best travel photos are not your own, but those that have been posted by your own guests (user generated content). So, have your social media team look out for photos posted from your property and ask the guest’s permission to use in your own materials or before posting to your hotel blog/gallery.
