2024 National Training | Digital Teaching Skills Enhancement Program in Hospitality and Tourism in Huizhou
From June 27 to July 8, 2024, the "2024 Secondary Vocational School Hospitality and Tourism Teachers' Digital Teaching Competency Enhancement Program" (hereinafter referred to as the "National Training Program") was successfully held. This event was co-organized by Huizhou City Vocational College (Huizhou Business and Tourism Senior Vocational Technical School) and Guangzhou Wintour Information Technology Co., Ltd., attracting 40 secondary vocational school teachers from across the province. The 14-day program, themed "A Multidimensional Perspective on Modern Vocational Education," provided an in-depth analysis of the current state, challenges, and future development trends of vocational education.

Dr. Huang Xin, founder of Guangzhou Wintour Information Technology Co., Ltd., along with Mr. Zhang Feng, Deputy General Manager and Technical Director, and Ms. Huang Wanmin, Deputy General Manager and Director of Operations and Teaching, were invited to share a three-day series of courses on the topics of "Enhancing Digital Teaching Competencies for Secondary Vocational School Hospitality and Tourism Teachers" and "Digital Marketing in Hospitality and Tourism."
Dr. Huang Xin explored the digital transformation in the hotel and tourism industry and the development of industry-education integration courses. He shared insights on how digital transformation enhances service efficiency, customer experience, and innovative business model applications within the hotel and tourism industry, emphasizing the importance of deep integration between modern technology and traditional industries.

Dr. Huang led participants into the practical realm of digital marketing in the hospitality and tourism sectors. He highlighted the critical role of digital marketing in the current tourism industry, guiding participants to recognize the importance of mastering digital marketing skills to drive innovation and development in tourism. Through specific case studies, he thoroughly explained digital marketing strategies, tools, and techniques, giving participants a clearer and deeper understanding of digital marketing.

Mr. Zhang Feng, Deputy General Manager and Technical Director of Wintour, delivered an engaging lecture on the application of artificial intelligence in the "teaching and learning" process within the digital age. He focused on explaining "What is AI and AIGC" and shared insights on the exploration of AIGC applications in educational scenarios.

In the digital marketing practical training session, Ms. Huang Wanmin, Deputy General Manager and Director of Operations and Teaching, first set the standards and requirements for the practical course. Each group focused on the themes of "Digital Marketing of Tourism Products" and "Digital Operations of Hotels," utilizing the unique features and selling points of the "Huidong Sea Turtle Bay" nature reserve, the training site, to collect material for their projects. The groups quickly organized, with clear division of labor and seamless cooperation.

After an intense period of material collection, the trainees successfully transformed the theoretical knowledge they had learned into practical applications. From the digital design of tourism routes to the establishment of online stores, from the optimization of hotel pricing systems to the digital transformation of various sectors such as the front desk, guest rooms, and dining services, they carried out their work in a structured and innovative manner. Every stage was filled with exploration and creativity.

Following meticulous planning and preparation, each group's final product was finally ready for presentation. During the sharing session, the groups vividly showcased their design concepts and route highlights through PPT presentations and WeChat mini-programs. These products not only demonstrated the trainees' deep understanding of the ecological resources at Turtle Bay but also highlighted their innovative thinking and practical skills in the field of ecological education. The trainees expressed that these route designs were novel, rich in content, and had profound educational significance, injecting new vitality into the development of ecological tourism at Turtle Bay.

Through practical learning in the two major courses provided by Wintour Education—“Digital Marketing of Tourism Products” and “Digital Operation of Hotels”—the trainees not only deepened their understanding of the tourism industry but also mastered the core elements and basic principles of tourism route design. It is believed that in their future work, the teachers will be able to apply the knowledge they have acquired, bringing a fresh experience to classroom teaching.
This National Teacher Training program, centered around "Enhancing Teachers' Digital Teaching Skills," made full use of Huizhou City Vocational College’s long-standing experience in tourism practice education and experimental research, as well as its expertise in tourism discipline research. The 14-day program, which combined theory with practical application, successfully concluded, marking the successful completion of the 2024 Digital Teaching Skills Enhancement Program for Vocational Education Teachers in Hospitality and Tourism.
